Sika – ‘Sound Journey’
Jul 11 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Experience the power of primordial sounds and join Sika for an intimate evening of journeying
Imagine for a moment…
A bunch of leaves whooshing through the sage infused air. A didjeridoo spiralling about the sacred space. The sound of the bullroarer opens a portal. Rocks, shells and feathers entice you further in. A Porotiti spins healing energy into your body. The heartbeat on a horse skin drum entrances your mind.
You leave time as you know it…
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT – Please consider the August 22 one in Cranborne.
Sika will play intuitively, enchantingly sensing into the energy of the space using his collection of natural instruments, which include:
Didjeridoo, drums, native flutes, rattles, leaves, stones, shells, bones and maori taonga puoro.
Sika’s voice and breath also play a vital role in this powerful, shamanic exploration. He also moves around the room, so you may feel a swoosh of air on your skin or the vibration of a didjeridoo above your body. With his gentle presence, Sika creates a safe space to journey inward.
It’s so simple, yet feels sacred.
Everyone is welcome. Simply lie down and listen.
Is a Sound Journey like a sound bath?
Sika’s sound journeys are a shamanic style of sound bath. Like most gong baths and sound baths, people lie down and relax to beautiful
sounds. But the sound journey really is a ‘journey’. Sika’s instruments guide you wordlessly into powerful inner states.
Some people perceive visions, colours and memories. Others gain clarity and new ideas. Many set an intention or ask for guidance. It is a
deeply personal experience and your experience will vary each time.
A sound journey can be a natural next step for people who go to sound baths and wish to deepen their experience beyond relaxation.
Sika has been quietly evolving his Sound Journey for over twenty years. As sound baths become more mainstream, demand for his sound journeys is ever increasing. By putting sound journeys at the heart of his next UK tour, he hopes to offer this profound inner experience to as many people as possible.
What should I bring?
Bring along a blanket, plus your own yoga or sleeping mat to lie on.
Flow of the evening
Sika will lead us through two Sound Journeys with a short break in between. Herbal teas will be available. We will have time at the end of the second journey to thoroughly return to our bodies before driving away.

Sika is a multimedia artist and pioneer of Sound Journeys.
His work reflects a lifetime of listening to the rhythms of nature.
He is recognised by significant Maori, Native American and Aboriginal elders, including the Yuin tribe of South Australia.
Based in New Zealand, Sika offers Sound Journeys internationally and tours across the United Kingdom each year. Sika plays at a range of festivals and event venues, from Carnglaze Cavern to Stonehenge. He also takes private bookings.
“Sika says that humans absorb sound into our cells, not merely into our ears and minds. My bones, body and mind were soothed by the resonating tones, gladly surrendering as my system relaxed into the safe space he created with his healing vibrations. This has accelerated a process of unfolding and unwinding my inner journey, into glimpsed dimensions and an expanded sense. As I dip back in to listen to his CD, I feel Sika dancing with the air.”
